Current pay dispute heads to ACAS1 October 2008Pay claim for 2009/2010 to be discussed and submitted early!
Local Government unions in England, Northern Ireland and Wales have decided to refer the dispute over this year's pay award to ACAS for arbitration UNISON head of local government Heather Wakefield said that consultation with members via branches had made it "very clear that our members want to see this pay dispute resolved as quickly as possible." Talks are still continuing over terms and conditions and the review of the 'Green Book'. Ms Wakefield thanked branches for an 82% response to a survey investigating annual leave, working hours and unsocial hours payments. She urged branches to see if they could match it by returning a new survey looking into car allowances and other leave. At a meeting on 18 September, UNISON's NJC committee also agreed to draft next year's pay claim for consideration by the joint unions on 1 October. Consultation with branches will take place throughout the month, with a view to submitting the 2009/10 claim to employers in November Go here to read the latest on the strike in Scotland http://www.unison.org.uk/fairdeal/news_view.asp?did=4839 Go here to keep abreast of all the latest ( and add it to your favourites!!) http://www.unison.org.uk/index.asp Go to the forums to add your comments, we want to hear from you!
