This year's conference would be the third year that I would have attended conference and as always looked forward to the debates, workshops and talks that are always part of these conferences.
The main body of the conference began on Saturday, however on the Friday some group meetings took place, for all to attend. This gave me little time on arriving before having to attend my first meeting of the weekend. Friday, passed quietly in terms of the conference as nothing new came out of any of the meetings that I attended.
On the Saturday the conference started properly, with motions being presented arguments for and against the motions presented and votes on these motions being taken. Once lunch had been taken, further group meetings were attended before an afternoon of workshops undertaken. I attended an interesting workshop around working with young trans people in schools. Whilst the topic of trans is of great personal interest to myself it was interesting to join a workshop on working with young trans.
Sunday morning arrived and the final session of conference, and a day full of heated debates and many thought provoking support for and disagreement on some of the motions being presented to the conference.. These provided many a topic of conversation once the conference was over and everyone was getting ready to leave. It certainly provided myself with many things to think about on the long train journey home.
