The last Executive meeting was held on 21st and 22nd November at which a report was produced.
Since then a North West Convenors report has been produced for the AGM in March.
Activity since last Executive Meeting.
- The Local Joint Forum met on 14th December, minutes once agreed will be posted in Livelink and on Website. The Chair of that group moves to Barnardos for 2007 and all dates have been agreed in advance.
- Sue Hayes the Regional Director has written to all e-mail users to encourage members to become more active.
- Alan Biggerstaff has attended Barnardos Induction Training to discuss UNISON membership on 18th January 2007.
- It was agreed at the LJF that further joint training between HR and UNISON would take place this year with the Organisation Mangers Group.
- Alan has met with, and got positive e-mail responses from, members who wish to become Stewards or contacts which he is following up.
- HR have asked that when these staff members are confirmed in their roles that they be informed so they can liaise with CSM and AD’s to ensure they are supported by management.
- Alan and I have arranged to meet to look at our respective roles in supporting and developing new Stewards/Contacts.
- An e-mail has gone out to all staff regarding the Pensions Roadshows in the North West with sign posts to Website and invitations to submit questions.
- Alan has arranged to meet the Retail Managers group in January to talk about the work of the Branch and encourage membership and activity.
Casework
There a number of Management of Change Document that are being submitted due to funding shortfalls in some services.
There are a number of ongoing cases which we are still involved in and new cases which have arisen.
I have included no detail so individuals or their situations cannot be identified.
