Are you approaching retirement?If you are approaching retirement from barnardo's, you can still remain a member of UNISON. Philip Francis, Retired Member Officer has a message for you!

CONGRATULATIONS ! ! ! You have just become eligible to be a retired member of Unison Barnardos. Even though you have retired, UNISON still values and needs you. There are lots of exclusive benefits for you to enjoy as a retired member, as well as the usual bonuses that come from belonging to a trade union. Some of these include:
· Campaigning and social contact for pensioners; · Use of the Croyde Bay UNISON holiday centre in · Discount on holidays; · Favourable rates for home and holiday insurance; · Support and advice from Unison Welfare at times of financial or personal difficulty. The application form for continued membership can be obtained from the Retired Members Contact, the Branch or Membership Secretary. A one off membership fee of £15 is payable to the Branch.
General Information: As a Retired Member, you can take advantage of the available services which are on offer. As a retired person you can also contribute to the work of the branch, so please contact the branch if you would like to know more. Annual conferences The Branch sponsors two members to attend the Retired Members Annual Conference, and also the Greater London Regional Retired Members seminar. Please look out for notices of these events. Each year at the AGM, members are to elect a Retired Member Contact, and you any retired member can be nominated for this role. This position may be held by two persons so please consider getting involved. At only £15 for a lifetime membership it’s a bargain you cannot ignore!
