Redundancies occur when;
The employer has shut down or intends to shut down their business in the place where the employee works.
The employer has ceased or intends to cease the kind of work which the employee was employed to do in the employees workplace
The employer's requirements for employees to perform the business or work of a particular kind have or is expected to cease or diminish. For example where the amount of work remains the same but an event such as reorganisation of workforce discloses over staffing
