The Regulations make it unlawful to treat part-time workers less favourably in their terms and conditions of employment. For example, part-time workers will be entitled to:
- receive the same hourly rate of pay as comparable full-time workers, including unsocial hours payments, bonuses, weekend and shift allowances;
- receive the same hourly rate of overtime, once they have worked more than the normal full-time hours;
- have the same access to occupational pension schemes;
- not be excluded from training or promotion because they work part-time;
- have the same entitlements to annual leave, maternity and parental leave on a pro-rata basis as full-time workers.
