Sickness absence
Barnardo's has policy on sickness absence and which can be found in detail in the staff handbook.
Barnardo's sick pay scheme is for the purpose of assisting eligible members of staff to recuperate from ill-health, and is payable within a 12 month period, commencing on the first day of sickness. Whenever a new period of sickness commences previous sickness will be counted when calculating allowance due.
UNISON members will be able to receive advice, support and representation from UNISON Barnardo's officers and stewards during the return to work process following long term absences and with management of attendance issues
