Now is the time to get activeGreat opportunity for training in representation skills for Barnardo’s members
We all know we are heading for difficult and uncertain times.
But there is a reality that no one knows yet when or where the axe will fall or how heavily.
As an employer who relies heavily on commissioned work from Government at a local level, Barnardo's is not completely in control of its own destiny. We are confident that Barnardo's will do all it can to keep hold of contracts and work, however, there is only so much they can do.
Let us be clear UNISON is not scare mongering ! The media and political conferences are full of talk of redundancies, some employers are talking about cuts and changes to terms and conditions in order to survive, no one should be under any illusion that times are going to get tough.
So it has never been more important for more members to become active as stewards or contacts.
The attached flyer Cuts cuts cuts is for a three day training course for new stewards. It has been designed specifically using Barnardo's policies and procedures.
This will equip you with the skills and knowledge to help members through what is going to be a difficult and challenging time.
It has never been more important for members to get involved, become active as stewards or contacts.
